About
An exhibition of work from Middlesex University’s new MA in Children’s Book Illustration and Graphic Novels.
The show features a lively and diverse range of stories and pictures from graduating and current students specializing in children’s books, comics and graphic novels and includes both published and unpublished work.
The exhibition includes FLORIAN GROSSET who tells a true and shocking account in THE CHARGOSSIANS, of a people forcibly evicted from their homeland in the 1960’s. JANAS LAU, with her modern and disturbing fable I AM A DEER speaks out against repression and human rights. IAN PENTNEY, with his epic graphic novel THE PENANG PILOT, set in the late nineteenth century, takes us on an exciting and emotional adventure that spans continents. SHAZLEEN KHAN, in her comic ANATHEMA explores the friendships and shifting relationships between a class of girls studying at a school of magic and SARAH RAHIM, in her hilarious children’s book FOSSIL takes us on a quest through her Jurassic, colourful world of chatty dinosaurs.
The show also features work from ALEX MOORE, CHRISTOS KYRIACOU, and EMMA PELLING and runs from Thursday evening the 1 November until Sunday 4 November 2018 at 5th BASE GALLERY.
