About
Technicians Make it Happen seeks to challenge outdated notions of who our nation’s technicians are and what they do. Through photography, painting, video and artefacts, we explore the crucial role technicians play across society and the rich, intriguing diversity of the occupations that can rightfully and proudly be defined as ‘technician’.
Technicians are the linchpins of the UK economy. They play a crucial role in the growth of businesses that employ them. They don’t always have technician in their job title, but there’s barely a business in the country that could function without them. From the sole trader plumber to the forensic lab technician, this country would grind to a halt if it wasn’t for the 1.5 million people who together are our nation’s technician workforce.
Come and meet the technicians who make so much happen.
