A performance by Sriwhana Spong, Pump House Gallery's current solo show, exploring sound in relation to her current exhibition by using the bell plate that suspends in the second floor of the gallery.
About
Join us at the gallery for Sriwhana Spong’s performance of Tasseography of a Rat’s Nest (extended).
The leaves from a rat’s nest, whose slow construction on a ledge outside the artist’s bedroom window was observed over several weeks, are read using amateur tasseography, a type of fortune telling which often uses tea leaves.
The performance will also draw on natural materials from Battersea Park, Spong using leaves found in the sub-tropical gardens near the gallery to make sounds on the bell plate suspended in the gallery as part of a hook but no fish.
