The Talking Interiors lecture series 2014/15 will feature international architects, designers, curators and writers who will discuss their own practice and dissect the role of interior design.
Graduating from Les Ateliers E.N.S.C.I. in 1991, Matali Crasset went on to work with Denis Sanatachiara in Milan, Philippe Stark and Thompson Media in Paris before leaving to start up her own studio in 1998. Crasset has developed the notion of domestic rituals when designing furniture, enhancing urban furniture with new technologies. In her 20-year career she’s been a notably flexible designer, creating ingenious systems in some surprising environments. These include high-profile commissions such as the Hi Hotel in Nice, which has nine different room concepts, none of which are designed to fake the feeling of being 'at home' to limited editions for galleries, such as Infrasons (2011), an exquisite range of bowls designed to look like musical instruments.
