About
Known for his unique ability to experiment, reinterpret and create afresh, Tal R is an extraordinary artist whose work explores and takes inspiration from his surroundings bringing an international perspective to Hastings. His approach to painting opens up the possibilities of the medium whilst also reflecting a deep understanding of painting tradition, an approach that reaches to the heart of Hastings Contemporary’s mission.
“the work of an artist should always be more clever than the artist” – Tal R
Uninhibited, and with endless creativity, Tal R’s high productivity and extraordinary range of creative outputs has led to some likening him to Picasso.
Tal R: eventually all museums will be ships shows Tal R in full flight, revealing new works as well as celebrating Tal R’s success to date. This exhibition occupies the majority of the ground floor of Hastings Contemporary’s award winning building from 6th July – 13 October 2019.
