About
Angela Morley
Working with a wide range of natural materials she creates sculptural forms which bring into focus nature's winter beauty. Her exhibition aims to create a refuge for the viewer, to contemplate the works' subtle colours and textures whilst also reflecting on mankind's ultimate dependence on the plant world for food, shelter and psychological well being. The exhibition will be a refuge from the cold weather outdoors, offering time for quiet contemplation on the healing power of nature and that of our gardens.
Through the winter months Angela sources and harvests an array of colourful and interesting sticks and twigs such as willow, hazel, silver birch, apple and field maple both from her own land and from hedgerows. Harvesting in a sustainable manner is key to her philosophy and of the quiet repetitive weaving process, she says 'for me it is a silent communion with nature, always soothing to my soul'.
Angela will also be offering workshops during the exhibition."
