During this event we will be discussing ways to tackle discrimination in the media & creative industries through panel discussions with Almass Badat, Jackie Adedji & Olivia Lifungula:

ALMASS BADAT, a Creative Director, DJ and strategist who communicates culture through Art. Her principal tools are public speaking, music, film & storytelling. Almass is London-born, grew up in Lusaka, and has Indian roots. Her notable collaborations include: RINSE FM, BoxOut FM (Delhi), Resident Advisor, ICA, Netflix, Roundhouse London, V&A, Boiler Room, BBC & Second Home.

She has been featured on WorldwideFM, NTS, The Dots, DAZED, the British Council, BBC Asian Network & more, and has curated in the UK & Mumbai Soho Houses as well as Soho Works during her time on the Soho House Committee.

JACKIE ADEDEJI, a Journalist, Podcast personality, and Presenter with her own self-titled Podcast ‘’Jackie Big Tits’’. She is also a regular columnist for The Metro, and has also written for Huffington Post, and others. She has also featured on Radio 4's Womans Hour, and BBC 1xtra Talks and BBC Three's Things Not To Say to Black Women. She is also a host for popular storytelling night The Moth in London. She is Passionate about bringing women together and promoting body positivity.

OLIVIA LIFUNGULA is a Congo born, Belgium raised photographer and filmmaker now living in London. Her work explores the themes of intimacy, beauty and the construction of black femininity in the arts and media. She has most recently been featured in Vogue Italia list of 20 female photographers to watch and has worked with clients such as Estée Lauder and Harper's Bazaar UK.

About HIT Project and Collage Arts 

Collage Arts and the HIT partnership have been empowering young people aged 14-19s in London, Rome, Barcelona, Berlin, Nicosia, Athens and Plovdiv to work together collaboratively as Hate Interrupter Teams (HITs) and develop positive (creative) media campaigns to tackle hate speech and behaviour online and offline, develop tools and good practice to support other young people, particularly from ethnic minorities.
