This February you are invited to the grand re-opening of the newly refurbished Trunk exhibition space with UK-based French artist Arthur Trombetta and his latest work Synthetic.
About
Synthetic will feature artworks highlighting the ambiguous relationship between the digital and the organic, orchestrating the confrontation between recorded bacteria and digitalised godlike presence within our environment. The Synthetic series aims at exploring one possible outcome of our future as humans within the context of new technologies and digitalisation.
The opening reception will be held on Thursday 4th February from 6pm. The artist will be present on that evening to introduce you to his work while you enjoy some complimentary refreshments.
The exhibition will then open to the public from Friday 5th until Saturday 27th February, with the possibility of purchasing the works exhibited.
Elephant & Castle being the birthplace of Charlie Chaplin, Arthur will also project at The Trunk his own video-montage in tribute to the great actor. Entitled Chaplin’s Phuturistic vision, thevideo is an Orwellian take on society’s future inspired by the cultural cyber-movement called ‘Phuturism’ which worship the concept of Singularity -When an AI will be more intelligent than men, leading to the extinction or assimilation of the latter.
