SYMBIOSIS A Solo Exhibition Exploring the Complex Relationship Between Nature and Humankind.
About
SLA Art Space is pleased to present "Symbiosis," a solo exhibition by fine artist Rasa Valiene, curated by Francine Rogers. The exhibition will be on view from September 30 to October 29th, 2023.
Gallery Hours: Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from 2:00pm to 7:00pm
"Symbiosis" is an evocative examination of the intricate relationship between nature and human consciousness. Influenced by the solitude and reflection found during the pandemic, Valiene crafts an intricate dialogue between vibrant colors, rhythmic lines, and symbolic elements. Works such as "Ode to Spring," "Longing for Cherries," and "Apple Harvest" depict an interplay between the dystopian realities of human existence and the nurturing aspects of nature.
In her own words, Valiene articulates the concept driving the exhibition: "Symbiosis expresses the delicate relationship between humankind and nature, where our existence is being nurtured by nature, and nature’s survival is dependent on our actions. With my paintings, I'd love to raise awareness, value, respect for nature, and to stress the importance of preserving the environment, something so vital for our survival."
“Valiene reveals a sort of imaginative reality understood as the scintillating mirage of the soul,” writes art critic, Algis Uzdavinys. “She emphasizes the beauty and goodness as the main paradigms of her creative work, therefore sensitive and refined pictures made by R. Valiene reveal her faithfulness regarding the positive human values. The painter regards the world a kind of perpetual miracle.”
