As part of Brixton House’s highly anticipated opening season, three of Switzerland’s most dynamic artists challenge us to see differently in Swiss Selection Live

About

Trân Tran’s Here & Now mischievously re-examines the pact between audience and performer to celebrate the ‘here and now’ of live theatre. The interactive show asks audience members to select from different options, from making you laugh to making you cry, as they decide what they want to see Trân Tran do next, making every show unique.

Ntando Cele’s Black Off explores what it means to be a Black South African Woman in Europe. Through her alter ego, Bianca White, Ntando takes to the stage in ‘whiteface’ to address the hidden racism in everyday life. Gleefully dissecting prejudices and stereotypes, Black Off combines music, text and video as audiences are forced to confront their own preconceptions.

Alan Alpenfelt’s Binaural Views of Switzerland is an audio-visual exploration of the impact of human activity on the Swiss landscape since 1863 when the pioneering British photographer William England made his Grand Tour of Switzerland. Over a two-month journey, artist Alan Alpenfelt has re-discovered 30 of these locations, documenting the changes in their aspect and atmospheres, using binaural sound recording and 3D photography. The installation will be free to enjoy for all Brixton House visitors.
