SWINE FLU ART MASKS

About

As an antidote to the media hysteria about masks to guard against this virus THE HEPSIBAH GALLERY has taken the old tradition of Plague Masks and made them anew. Masks are made in delicate pages from wrecked books, illustrated with inks, wax seals.veils, and handstiched together . Some are made from pages of calligraphy, one from a page of Beethoven, a Mozart,an Old frontispiece of Lucretia Borgia, a map, Paradise Lost and P Regained, pages from a rhyming dictionary, some Racine from a wrecked 18th book....all so delicately put together and stiched with small black crosses. They are exquisite. They actually can be worn and they make you feel strangely beautiful...but this is Art..it will not save you from a Pandemic. JH
