Witches, Scamps and Things Solo Exhibition programme: Superstitions and Speculations | A Comedic Live Tour with Jay Bennett

About

Join comedic performer Jay Bennett on an immersive journey around Witches, Scamps and Things , a multidisciplinary exhibition by artist Kelly Sweeney.

Encounter Sweeney’s folkloric creatures, supernatural phenomena and otherworldly things as they linger around you, inhabiting the gallery space. Become enlightened by factual tales of the most fictitious kind laced with superstitious absurdity from real life encounters with Sweeney’s phantasmagoric pantheon. Expect fabricated myths, cures for bites and life-saving tips on who not to feed after midnight. Make an offering at the shrine, invoke a goddess or two and never cross the streams. The strange and peculiar are especially welcome. The performance has been commissioned by the artist exclusively for the show.

You will also get the opportunity to watch Colour Me Pink, which premiered at the Horse Hospital in January, and meet artist Kelly Sweeney who will be joining us on our otherworldly trip around the show. The perfect way to start a weekend. Fly solo. Bring friends. Make new ones. Meet those who may not be all they seem.

A finalist in London Cabaret Awards, nominated for Best Comedy Event at Buxton Fringe and as seen on BBC Three, Jay Bennett is a London-based comedian who most recently performed her hilarious multifaceted show; An Audience with Yasmine Day at London’s Soho Theatre. Having trained at the Guildford School of Acting, Jay combines comedy and cabaret to create engaging shows full to the brim with comedic dynamism. Jay is an experienced improviser and part of London’s Free Association where she performs weekly.

Places are limited, please make sure you RSVP to avoid disappointment.
