Photographer Matt Writtle invites fellow Photographer, A Small Voice podcasthost and writer Ben Smith down to his exhibition Sunday: A Portrait of 21st Century England to discuss the practicalities of creating, funding, publishing and launching your own photobook and exhibition.
Matt will reveal the finer intricacies of how his recent project which has spanned 10 years of work came to fruition. Sunday explores the huge cultural shift away from traditional churchgoing and what this represents of wider cultural changes. For centuries Sunday has been known throughout Christian England as a day of worship, contemplation and reflection; the one true day of leisure. However, with weekly church attendance figures now falling below one million for the first time Matt asks the question what are people doing instead? And how does this reflect wider cultural shifts of our time.
This is a free talk but places are limited. Please RSVP to mail@mattwrittle.com by the 1st November.
