About

The films explore subject matter as varied as the development of YSP's major Andy Goldsworthy exhibition in 2007, to attempts by soldiers to re-integrate into ‘normal' life after returning from the front line. Each film will be preceded by a talk with the filmmakers and artists involved. Brunch will be served in the licensed restaurant from 11am and pre-screening talks begin in the auditorium at 2pm, followed by the films at 3pm. So don't stay wrapped up in your duvet, make the most of your Sundays and enjoy film, food and conversation at YSP! Please book through 01924 832500 or info@ysp.co.uk. Restaurant brunch menu from 11am (not included in ticket price). 1 November: Layered Land Go behind the scenes of YSP's extraordinary Andy Goldsworthy exhibition, held in 2007. In conversation: YSP Curator Dr Helen Pheby and filmmaker Johanna McTiernan discuss the exhibition and the making of Layered Land. 8 November: Forgotten Heroes: The Not Dead Follow the stories of three soldiers, involved in different conflicts, as they return from the front line. In conversation: poet Simon Armitage and director Brian Hill talk about the use of creative writing in the film. 15 November: Boulder Discover the making of a major public artwork by John Frankland, from the quarry blast to its final unveiling. In conversation: artist John Frankland and filmmaker Chris Dorley Brown discuss the making of boulder.
