SUMMER SCHOOL: PAINTING IN THE PARK

In this one week painting course students will explore landscape painting in Kensington Gardens. Students will be encouraged to make quick oil sketches in response to the landscape and will consider artists such as John Constable, Gabrielle Lope as well as those on a more abstract level including Richard Diebenkorn. The course will include a short lecture about the history of landscape painting and guidance about materials and kit for painting outside will be given. Each session will begin in nearby Sydney Close Studios to discuss the previous day’s work and set possible objectives to achieve during the day. The studio will remain available for rainy days. 

One to one tuition will be given by visiting artist James Hart Dyke, a Royal Tour landscape painter.
