Learn Etching
Develop a personal project using traditional etching techniques under expert guidance. This intensive week long course offers an increased understanding of process and promotes experimentation in a purposeful, friendly workshop setting.
A full range of techniques will be available: hard ground, soft ground, soap ground, and a range of aquatint techniques that include spit bite, sugar lift and burnishing.
You will also develop an understanding of how artists have used this process both historically and in current practice and from this start to identify techniques which might best suit your temperament, personal strengths and interests.
This course is perfect for those with some prior etching or printmaking experience.
