About

Hidden Wilderness: Drawing London's nature

Monday 22 August – Friday 26 August
Olivia Kemp
10am – 4pm / £275

One week drawing course for young artists providing serious sustained drawing tuition for 11–15 year olds during the Summer holidays. These courses will help students develop their skills in a productive studio environment. The courses are taught by professional practicing artists from the Royal Drawing School’s faculty for young artists.
Courses run from 10am – 4pm, Monday to Friday. The group will be supported by an assistant tutor
and there will be a maximum class size of 20.

This course will run from the studios at Royal Drawing School Shoreditch.

How does nature encroach on our urban life?  Artist Olivia Kemp will reveal hidden gems in and around the Shoreditch area where controlled and uncontrolled nature makes its mark on the city.  Gaining skills in outdoor sketching and developing an eye for detail, students will then use their sketches to create a large scale drawing back at the studio.  Historical imagery and a look at London's landscape through time will support the students in finding their own unique drawing style.
