Our annual celebration of art and creativity continues in 2022, and will explore the urgent theme of Climate.
About
Run without interruption since 1769 – albeit with a minor move to winter for the past two years – the Summer Exhibition is the world’s most joyful art exhibition. Anyone can submit their work for the chance of it being selected to go on display in our Main Galleries. The end product is an exhibition celebrating art in all mediums, from prints, paintings, film and photography to sculpture, architectural works and more by leading artists, Royal Academicians and household names as well as new and emerging talent.
Most of the works are available to buy and the Summer Exhibition directly supports the exhibiting artists and the RA’s charitable work, including training the next generation of artists in the Royal Academy Schools.
This year, the theme of the exhibition is Climate: whether as a crisis or opportunity, or simply our everyday experience, it is an all-embracing and urgent subject.
