Pop-Up Pottery the portable pottery class for beginners and intermediate level! Come and learn traditional skills of throwing on the potters wheel and have a go at some tile design. In this class each student will interact with the potters wheel to create a vessel or form with guidance from professional ceramicist and artist, Finola Maynard.

Pop-Up Pottery the portable pottery class for beginners and intermediate level! Come and learn traditional skills of throwing on the potters wheel and have a go at some tile design. In this class each student will interact with the potters wheel to create a vessel or form with guidance from professional ceramicist and artist, Finola Maynard.
Make something with your hands in a different medium you're used to and exercise your creative senses! You can either come to the class with an idea and project ready to make, or simply explore techniques with the traditional craft, Finola will teach you everything.
When you're not throwing on the potters wheel you can create and design a tile! You can design your tile with rough and beautiful mark making or building onto your tile with height and sculpture. Specialized ceramic tools will be available to help you draw, make and manipulate the clay.
Two weeks later can visit Finola at The Mucky Duck to paint your vessel or tiles. Finola will then fire your items ready to pick up one week later. All for the cost of £30!
Pop Up Pottery has had magnificent feedback from past participators the benefits are astounding. Pop Up Pottery is all about interacting, building social skills and strengthening relationships. The class is also great for confidence! Push yourself to try something new, working with clay is very therapeutic and throwing is fun and satisfying. To create a product from your own hands is the beauty of traditional craft; and should something everybody has a chance to experience.
Aprons are provided, but it's best to wear clothes you don't mind getting mucky. Please book promptly because spaces are limited to 15! There is no upper or lower age limit kids, are welcome!
