About
Subtext explores the common threads between the working practices of three artists: Emma Hartley, Lucie Feighan and Julia Noble. The artistic outcome is not pre-planned, but a response to an event, place, person or memory. This is the subtext, the underlying thoughts or motivations of each artist. Mark-making, gesture, process and layering underpin each art practice but are used in diverse ways. Subtext looks to create conversations between the works and identify commonalities between them. The exhibition’s aim is to engage the viewer to read the subtext in the light of their own experiences.
The evening view from 6-9pm on 8th October is free but ticketed in 1 hour time slots to ensure social distancing. Please click on event website link to book your slot
