AboutOriginally from Oxford and currently resident in Bristol, self-taught Kleiner Shames had a playful introduction to the creative world through the mediums of graffiti and skateboarding approximately 15 years ago.
With strong roots in graffiti and skateboarding, Kleiner Shames's work is characterised by a surreal playfulness. Combining reoccurring structures and characters with memories, a love of sayings and idioms and adjusted and re-moulded in the form of screen-prints, dimensional assemblage and ink studies.
Everyday objects are continuously added to this expanding collection of visual luggage as shape is commandeered and moulded, colour is re-arranged and balanced.
Inevitably the continued push forward led to exhibiting indoors and experimenting in a variety of mediums including print making, assemblage and ink. Not forgetting a continuing love of painting walls.
