About
A live dance installation with movement, dance, image and sound.
A dancer lies on the ground, looks at the sky and inhales the clouds.
A spacewalking Apollo 9 astronaut describes his views of earth.
Dice roll.
Home is a fabric, a weave, a practice of making and remaking.
Having spent many years taking himself and his work to distant places, Simon’s Studies for Maynard pauses to think about what it is to be located at home whilst holding the wider curve of the earth.
Simon is in residence at Oriel Davies for two weeks. He is transferring the ephemera of his studio, developing a series of performance studies with sound artist Barnaby Oliver and featuring a film by Tanya Syed that accompanies his own work.
Simon’s last project with Oriel Davies was the memorable Louphole in 2010. He lives and works from Abercych, Pembrokeshire.
