Sand, Sea, Rocks and Totems bring power of the wild to Pall Mall Gallery in exhibition by Stuart Morris.
About
Stuart Morris, painter, printmaker, environmental artist based in Suffolk, exhibits his unique canvases, photo collages and paintings.
Dismiss any preconceptions of Suffolk 'landscapes' and 'environment', and think vibrant, dynamic, abstract, primitive, large . These works, often on a huge scale, are difficult to label or define and make up an exhibition which crosses genre and traditional boundaries of paint, photo, print as well as culture .
Prominent in the exhibition are a collection of vividly painted totem poles set against a range of wild, desolate backgrounds . Painted stones, rocks, trees, alive with images referencing the textiles, paintings, artefacts of ancient cultures create a memorable, provocative exhibition which transcends conventional notions of landscape .
