Stories We Tell is a series of 8-week photography workshops for local people, run in collaboration with Poplar Union and non-profits across London, and supported by the Arts Council National Lottery Project Grants.

This fifth edition of Stories We Tell is a celebration of Peace.

In a world that often feels divided, our photography workshops offer a unique way to build bridges between communities. Through the mindful practice of capturing images, participants find common ground and connect with one another, transcending cultural and socio-economic differences.

Photography, combined with mindfulness, fosters inner peace, allowing us to stay calm and compassionate during difficult moments. By focusing on the present and appreciating the beauty around us, we cultivate a sense of tranquility and resilience. With Stories We Tell, we aim to enhance our skills in living harmoniously and compassionately, both within ourselves and with others.

SWT Background
Stories We Tell started in March 2020 during the first lockdown. It’s a space for local people to improve their wellbeing, learn new photography skills and connect with their community in a playful way. Since then, we have collaborated with community centres, universities, hospitals and individuals to explore themes such as sustainability, gender equality, and mental health.

Mindful Photo Lab
Mindful Photo Lab promotes well-being through photography and mindfulness. Our workshops encourage participants to connect with their surroundings, find inner peace, and build bridges between diverse communities. Join us to explore the therapeutic power of mindful photography.
