Roberta Moore Contemporary is delighted to announce 'Stop Making Sense', a joint show with sculptor Georgiana Anstruther and abstract artist Carol Corell at Lacey Contemporary Gallery.
About
The title 'Stop Making Sense' stemas from the advise Sol LeWitt gave in a letter to the young sculptor Eva Hesse when she was overthinking her work, something all artists experience. The phrase resonates in the context of Georgiana and Carol because although dramatically different, their work complements each other in a unique and refreshing fashion.
Georgiana's work achieves a breathness of life and brings this into her finished bronze, whereas, Carol uses simple geometric shapes and stripes and uses this throughout her abstract painting.
