The paintings in my latest body of work encompass a range of different moods and environments, from urban scenes to wistful seascapes, in dark dramatic tones, and paler, softer palettes. Inspiration has come from both the external world and my own imaginings. I am often inspired by my travels; the cityscapes were drawn from a trip to Edinburgh last year, ‘Under the Stars' was inspired by the Derbyshire countryside, and the ‘Reflection' series evolved from memories of a trip to Switzerland.
