Fausto Assuncao ( b. 1978, Johannesburg, South Africa) received his Degree of Arts, Fine Arts (Painting) from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of O'Porto, Portugal. 

Fausto's practice focuses on re-interpretation of painting and drawing traditions. His work explores ideas of figuration and appropriation often working from photographs and film.
