Approaching the end of 2019, a widespread outbreak of an unknown infectious disease put a halt to the rhythm and routine of the lives of millions. In many locations, silence and a foreboding peace came. The streets that once brimmed with people from all around the world travelling down the lanes and exchanging greetings dried up. A long stifle hush transpired. However, through time even within the disrupted flow of life, people are finding themselves bit by bit adapting to the slower movements of life. Step by step, a gentle bloom of pleasantries is arriving. Here, Still Water aims to create an archive of empathy for this shared discreet liveliness within the tranquility in the lives of 7 artists. Still Water examines this moment of quiet delight through paintings, video media, photographs, installation, and sculpture.
