About
Having previously shown at the Ideas Centre (along with Ed Hill) in 2014, this solo show presents a selection of his most recent paintings on canvas and paper. Although certain cycles of repetition are apparent in his practise, cheeswright is suspicious of falling into a purposeful ‘style’ the painter restlessley switches saddles regularly between the sensitive introspective and the fleeting absurd; between abstraction and figuration. The title Spokes centres on the simple idea of the spokes of a wheel coming of a central hub (the artist himself) and all these different arrows being part of the same momentum
