SPLICED, a two-person exhibition brings together Jost Münster and Fleur Simon—contemporary abstract painters exploring the interplay between structure, space, and emotion. Presented by Hannah Payne Art
This two-person exhibition presented by Hannah Payne Art brings together Jost Münster and Fleur Simon—contemporary abstract painters exploring the interplay between structure, space, and emotion.
SPLICED unites two distinct yet complementary practices that dissect, layer, and reconstruct the visual field. Working at the edges of form and perception, both artists investigate how structure and sensation intertwine—how a line might divide, connect, or dissolve entirely. Their shared visual language is one of fragmentation and convergence, where materials, methods, and meanings are cut, rejoined, and reimagined.
Münster draws on the patterns of the constantly shifting built environment to create vivid, illusionistic spaces rooted in everyday structures. His work explores architecture as a fluid framework for abstraction.
Simon’s practice is an intuitive, process-led exploration of psychological space. Using resins, jesmonite, and paint, she constructs hybrid surfaces that reflect both emotional states and material excess. Her work moves across a spectrum of abstraction—from the cellular to the environmental.
Formerly teacher and student at The Ruskin School of Art, Münster and Simon now engage in a visual dialogue that bridges disciplines and approaches to abstraction. SPLICED is a meditation on proximity and divergence—on how painting can map both the seen and the felt.
