SHELF proudly present our inaugural group show SPLASH at our new permanent gallery space: SHELF Spanish City.

About

Featuring  work from the directors of SHELF, MILK, IOUAE, PERICLO, IKO:  Matt Antoniak, Corey Bartle-Sanderson, Stacey Davidson, Oliver Durcan, Steven Gee, James Harper, James Hindle, Max Lee, Bex Massey, Sarah Roberts, Joe Shaw and Matt Wilkinson curated by SHELF.

This will be the first group show in a full program of exhibitions to hit the newly refurbished pleasure-dome decree SPANISH CITY. We will call this an introduction. A bigger splash is yet to come...

SHELF SPANISH CITY gallery is situated on the mezzanine of the SPANISH CITY dome and will operate as a curatorial residency space for nomadic and regional collectives. Each residency is approximately 2 months where a given collective can utilize the gallery as if their own. As such SHELF SPANISH CITY will hold a dynamic free program of emerging artistic talent. Like Darryl Hannah in the movie Splash-most of us are juggling different roles to keep our heads above water.  Each member of each of the collectives working with us to program a dynamic year of fabulous exhibitions at Shelf Spanish City are also artists.  We are therefore using our first exhibition Splash to showcase our mermaids.  Each of these artists will get a chance to shake their tails before slipping their fins back into their curatorial shoes.
