About
Tom comes from a background in illustration and the graphic arts, with a restless love for peephole dioramas and cabinets of curiosity. He recently completed his first book ‘Out of The Box’ - A celebration all about assemblage, the possibility in found Things and lost art of collecting in an increasingly cyber world. The compendium is a decade long investigative showcase of over 100 artists from 21 different countries. The exhibition SPILT MILK is an opportunity to come and meet the author and artist, timed with his newly released book. Tom is fascinated by cause and effect, the tactile relationship and collision between unlikely objects. His latest project uses discarded plates as illustrative storyboards, highlighted within bespoke crafted box frames. Roll up!Roll up! for some ceramic plate palm reading! This is Tom’s second solo show at The Ben Oakley Gallery, his plate works have also been selected by Royal Scottish Academy & The Other Art Fair.
