About
Lemonade Gallery is proud to present an exhibition of new oil paintings by renowned Hungarian artist Csaba Kis Róka. Having previously exhibited at the Liverpool Biennial, this is his first UK solo show and follows a number of well-received exhibitions across Europe.
Sorrowful Flesh highlights Csaba’s ongoing exploration of the human form, the tortured body, and the darker reaches of the human condition.
More abstract than his earlier works, these powerful and desolate images have left behind the protagonists and abusers, focussing instead on internal tortures and the perpetual sufferings of the self.
Csaba’s paintings conjure a dialogue between feelings of helplessness and terror, reflecting the “…real life situations when we feel ourselves naked to a higher power like governments and political systems, the relentless force of change and instability in Europe”.
