Smiths Row is delighted to announce the return of the popular open exhibition aiming to uncover and support some of the exciting art being conceived and produced in the Eastern Region.
About
Smiths Row Open is a newly expanded iteration of ‘Suffolk Showcase’. It is now inviting applications from artists and makers from Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex in any media. The Call for Applications is now live and the closing date for entries is Friday 6 March at 6pm.
The work in this year’s exhibition will be selected by two independent judges: artist Lisa Wilkens (Studio Holder Wysing Arts Centre, Cambridge) and curator Guy Haywood (Assistant Curator Kettle’s Yard, Cambridge).
One work will be chosen as the overall winner of The Selector’s Award in addition to The Ashton KCJ Award generously supported by the local solicitors firm. The two artists selected will receive £250 and three artist surgery sessions with members of the gallery team over the course of twelve months. Both awardees will be announced at the exhibition launch.
