About
Small World - Big Circus is the third solo exhibition of emerging artist Lakhveer Azad.
The exhibition will consist of a series of 20 fabric prints portraying the pandemonium of the world’s affairs in a glorious array of ecstatic colour. Lakhveer has illustrated busy digital images in a style which he describes as ‘Hieronymus Bosch for the Simpsons generation’.
Small World- Big Circus focusses on everything from war, immigration and warring stripes of politics to cinema, music and the eradication of gender stereotypes.
Lakhveer believes the currency of truth is harshly lacking in the world today, that truth does not exist from the mouthpieces from mainstream media, mainstream public figures or mainstream consensus but from the suspected few who are paying the price for uttering it. These prints look to stand with those few. To speak the truth which some find horrifying but nonetheless should be said with unfettered conviction.
