Abby Humphries creates surreal environments, using synthetic materials to reference organic forms.
About
I liked Abby's foam sculptures so much, I have installed another of her works. You can still see the two works from Sink or Swim online here
Like Sink or Swim, Small Talk uses everyday materials.
Abby creates surreal environments, using synthetic materials to reference organic forms. The works are inspired by extreme and desolate landscapes such as the desert and the deep sea. Through distortion and abstraction, the works recall exotic life forms. By experimenting with familiar everyday materials found in the places we inhabit, the work presents a tension between familiarity and absurdity in every day life.
Abby Humphreys has recently graduated from the University of Leeds.

You can view the exhibition online here, on Facebook, or in person on the corner of Vestry Road and Peckham Road.
