About
An exhibition of sculpture in which 15 artists contribute ‘something small’. The works in this exhibition invite a kind of haptic looking, owing to their size and to the diversity of the materials used to make them. Many resemble everyday objects; slices of pizza, bottles of water, a pocket stuffed with scraps of paper. Placed together a loose commonality emerges between them; a preoccupation with the materiality of the domestic, the mundane and the personal. Furthermore, the works appear to share in an unwillingness to romanticise or monumentalise these small moments and gestures. Instead each artist revels in the possibility of discovering the affective qualities of the banal.
