Paradise Works is pleased to present 'Slime Of Ur Life: Work Drinks' a solo exhibition by John Powell-Jones.

Work Drinks is part of a new body of work exploring the relationship Western culture has with 'work' and how this is informed by an ideology perpetuated through living within a hyper-capitalist/consumer state of shared consciousness.

Work is no longer a part of one's existence, it is instead increasingly becoming the all-consuming reason for being, oozing over every aspect of life, the line between it and leisure blurred.

We live in a constant state of anxiety, ever aware of the looming shadow of unemployment, bombarded by the idea that success, financial wealth and ultimately happiness are all intrinsically linked.
