About
The Depot, London is proud to present Sky Gods, an exhibition of new works by Kyle Montgomery. The works exhibited display an emphasis on romantic speculation through the rearrangement of paranormal, occult, extra terrestrial and ancient society symbology.
Montgomery is a Sydney-based multidisciplinary artist, who is currently working with collage and sculpture. The abstract compositions are made up of found and foreign printed matter; carefully cut and layered with ultra modern architecture and textures, in line with Montgomery's quondom-future vision, the images from the past become completely antithetical to their time. Although relics, together they somehow feel prophesied.
Through physical manipulation of pre-made forms Montgomery creates his alternative interpretation of existing religious iconography and artifacts. The sculptures lean on the same religious, cosmic, anatomical and occult themes.
Born in 1987, Sydney Australia Kyle Montgomery is currently living and working in Sydney Australia. He is currently completing a residency at Cill Rialaig in County Kerry, Ireland.
