Kidd works in porcelain, producing hand-thrown bowls with ground granite, and slip-cast work, created from sculpted plaster and then made in limited editions.
Aiming to bring ‘the place into the piece’ within his works, Kidd's primary focus is the Irish landscape, with each piece in the exhibition referencing a place in Northern Ireland.
In advance of this exhibition, we interviewed Kidd to capture his thoughts on where his creativity comes from and where it is going. It may be read on our website here: https://www.erskinehallcoe.com/exhibitions/simon-kidd-2020/text/.
The online exhibition may be viewed until the 29th of May at https://www.erskinehallcoe.com/exhibitions/simon-kidd-2020/.
