Simon Jaques uses low-resolution technologies to capture the vastness of nature and in the process creates a cinematic painterliness. A desire for immediacy and an interest in the alchemy of photography led to the use of Polaroid cameras. The inadequacies of Polaroid, its blurring and limited depth of field, lend the final works unexpected qualities and elaborate on the drama of the original scene.
