The works created by artists Dijon Hierlehy, Ben Cooper and Kath Morrell will explore the dichotomy involved within the value we place on art and money, how we perceive beauty and how it is reflected in our ideas.

Experience art, music, exquisite cocktails and complimentary elixirs all in one place.

About

SILVER ODYSSEY Phuturistic-Art, in collaboration with Gallery Extreme, presents ‘The Colour of money’ art exhibition - featuring artists Dijon Hierlehy, Ben Cooper and Kath Morrell opening her own room art installation, addressing colour and the topic of money.

Money and artworks have always had a difficult relationship, for whilst money is needed for the artist to work, the ‘meaning’ of the artwork produced seems undermined by its innate financial value. This is because, whilst we find emotional content in artworks, placing a value on those works means that, as the viewer, we are placing a value on the emotions we are having. This is troubling, for there seems to be an inherent mismatch between the two ideas. How do we compare the price of a Francis Bacon piece to the emotions of horror or delight we find in his works? And how can these works change their value over time and between cultures if our emotions towards these pieces stay the same?

Creating the artwork is about creating a thing of value. It is the ultimate alchemy. And in doing so we transform these base metals; paints, canvases, papers and inks, into a objects of worth. Our concepts of both art and money are perpetually coloured by the way we perceive value. The value we place on them as determined by our relationship to its form, its shape and its impression.

These ideas are brought together with Gallery Extreme & Silver Odyssey Phuturistic Art brand that is directed towards producing a multi-sensory exhibition experience including elixirs and music designed to influence our perceptions.

On behalf of Silver Odyssey Phuturistic-Art, Dijon Hierlehy has created stunning light-box image’s, portraying energetic and kinetic 4D movement within the art pieces; part of our Light-box series, London 2014. Dijon Hierlehy’ recent art and magazine commissions include Pandora, the Raven Art Society, Shoreditch Art Wall, London restaurants/galleries, Grace Jones, Silver Odyssey Phuturistic-Art events and Private views.

Ben Cooper – Bwcoop – is a Cambridge born street artist turned fine artist, now living in the heart of East London. Influenced by photography, fashion, emotion and an obsession with the creation and capture of beauty in the physical form. Art and life come hand in hand for Bwcoop, each one mirroring and expressing the other with highs and lows played out together on canvas.
The works shown here, were painted during an intense love affair, they try to capture a momentary feeling, lost but not forgotten, just like many before.

Gallery Extreme

At Gallery Extreme we offer extremely delicious art. Ninetyeight features the most exciting art openings in London, where original artists will show their works in new and innovative ways.

Last December Gallery Extreme hosted an exhibition about music, culture and fashion icon Grace Jones, curated by her close friend Moussa Sanogo. ‘La Grace Du Ciel’ was the name of the opening. It showcased a group of upcoming artists and their interpretation of what Grace represents to them. On its opening Grace herself showed up for a few hours to appreciate the wonderful artwork.

Opening on the 5th March, our newest installation, “A Themed Room” is a must see exhibition.  Come along for an event to remember and enjoy the excitingly quirky surroundings and deliciously refreshing cocktails at NinetyEight.
