Berlin Blue Art presents the artist duo Stine Nielsen Ljungdalh/Charlotte Bergson showing in Berlin for the first time. With 'SILVER – Encounters with Bâ' the duo continues its collaboration which started with “The Hunters of The Invisible” at the Stanley Picker Gallery (London) in 2016.

Silver is a substance in the photographic process which helps develop the frozen mirror image of time and therefore becomes a threshold between different worlds. The 'Bâ' (bꜣ) – in the ancient egyptian concept of the soul - is a person’s spiritual double. The mirrored personality or the reflected self. The 'Bâ' is everything that makes an individual unique, similar to the notion of 'personality'. In this sense, inanimate objects can also have a 'Bâ', a unique character.

With 'SILVER – Encounters with Bâ' the artist duo Stine Nielsen Ljungdalh/Charlotte Bergson addresses the idea of passing the threshold to a secret world. The exhibition forms a dialog between objects, artifacts and photographic works resulting in an alchemical theatre which challenges our ideas of personality and reality.

Charlotte Bergson (1971) is an artist and documentary filmmaker, currently based in Copenhagen. Her work investigates how the idea of knowledge has been generated and manipulated throughout history. She regularly works with existing archives, bringing to light proof of alternative realities often forgotten and neglected. Bergson, who was trained as a filmmaker at The Independent Film School in Sweden (2001), is a declared feminist, who has been engaged in voluntary work, especially in Rajasthan. Her work has been shown widely in Europe, and in 2014 she was selected to be the artist in residence at the Hunting Society.

Dr. Stine Nielsen Ljungdalh (1969) is an artist working conceptually across the disciplines of print, mixed media, photography and installation. Her practice centers on meta-fiction as a method of addressing different notions of the event (and ultimately of creation, in a broader sense), inspired by perspectives from philosophy, science and alchemy.

​Her method involves the on-going creation of an alchemical theatre, a parallel fictitious world, called 'The Zone'. 'The Zone' which is inhabited by fictional personas and organisations, is built as a diagram based on a non-linear timeframe.

Stine Nielsen Ljungdalh was chosen as one of the Young Artists at Cern in 2004 and recently gained a PhD of Arts at Kingston. University London. She lives and works in Copenhagen.

Berlin Blue Art präsentiert das Künstlerduo Stine Nielsen Ljungdalh / Charlotte Bergson zum ersten Mal in Berlin. Mit 'SILVER - Begegnungen mit Bâ' setzt das Duo seine Zusammenarbeit fort, die mit 'The Hunters of The Invisible' in der Stanley Picker Gallery (London) im Jahr 2016 begann.

Silber ist eine Substanz im fotografischen Prozess, die hilft, das gefrorene Spiegelbild der Zeit zu entwickeln und dabei zu einer Schwelle zwischen verschiedenen Welten wird. Das 'Bâ' (bꜣ) - im alten ägyptischen Konzept der Seele – ist das spirituelle Doppel einer Person, die gespiegelte Persönlichkeit oder das reflektierte Selbst. Das 'Bâ' ist alles, was ein Individuum einzigartig macht, ähnlich dem Begriff der 'Persönlichkeit'. In diesem Sinne können unbelebte Gegenstände auch einen 'Bâ' haben, einen einzigartigen Charakter.

Mit 'SILVER - Begegnungen mit Bâ' adressiert das Künstlerduo Stine Nielsen Ljungdalh / Charlotte Bergson die Idee, die Schwelle zu einer geheimen Welt zu übertreten. Die Ausstellung bildet einen Dialog zwischen Objekten, Artefakten und fotografischen Werken und erschafft ein alchemistisches Theater, das unsere Vorstellungen von Persönlichkeit und Wirklichkeit hinterfragt.

Charlotte Bergson (1971) ist eine Künstlerin und Dokumentarfilmerin, die derzeit in Kopenhagen ansässig ist. Ihre Arbeit untersucht, wie die Idee des Wissens im Laufe der Geschichte erzeugt und manipuliert wurde. Sie arbeitet regelmäßig mit bestehenden Archiven zusammen und findet Beweise für alternative Realitäten, die vergessen und vernachlässigt wurden. Bergson, die als Filmemacherin an der Independent Film School in Schweden (2001) ausgebildet wurde, ist eine deklarierte Feministin, die viel freiwillige Hilfe, vor allem in Rajasthan, geleistet hat. Ihre Arbeit wurde europaweit gezeigt, und im Jahr 2014 wurde sie für die Künstleresidenz der 'Hunting Society' ausgewählt.

Dr. Stine Nielsen Ljungdalh (1969) ist ein Künstlerin, die konzeptionell in den Disziplinen Print, Mixed Medien, Fotografie und Installation arbeitet. Ihre Praxis konzentriert sich auf Meta-Fiktion als Methode. Inspiriert von Perspektiven aus Philosophie, Wissenschaft und Alchemie, behandelt sie unterschiedliche Vorstellungen von Ereignissen und Realität (und letztlich der Schöpfung im weiteren Sinne).

Ihre Methode beinhaltet die fortschreitende Schaffung eines alchemistischen Theaters, einer parallelen fiktiven Welt, die "The Zone" genannt wird. "The Zone", die von fiktiven Persönlichkeiten und Organisationen bewohnt wird, existiert als "Diagramm" auf der Grundlage eines nichtlinearen Zeitrahmens.

Stine Nielsen Ljungdalh wurde 2004 als eine der Künstler/innen am CERN gewählt und hat vor kurzem einen Doktortitel an der Kingston University London erworben. Sie lebt und arbeitet in Kopenhagen.
