An examination of cultural disfigurations in contemporary culture loosely inspired by themes in Virgil's 'Aeneid'.
About
Following the 2013 exhibition 'signal::failure - variations on dystopic space', this sequel explores the cultural disfigurations that arise from the conflict between interior life and the objectifications of social progress. Loosely inspired by themes from Virgil's Aeneid as an allegory of the new Augustan imperial age, signal::failure (squared) will examine through abstract, conceptual, and figurative strategies the distortions the 'myth of progress' inflicts upon the self, interpersonal relationships, and our collective understanding of political and cultural development.
