Canal is delighted to present a short season of live comedy shows destined for this year's Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
About
The programme includes Omar Hamdi's new work, In the Valleys of the Kings, which excavates a Welsh upbringing by an Egyptian mummy. Ivor Dembina's critically acclaimed Old Jewish Jokes, as well as his new show New Jewish Jokes, explore the ironies of being a contemporary Jewish comic.
We're delighted to present Matthew Crosby's new show. Crosby is the co-star and co-writer of Badults, as well as being a member of Pappy's, with TV appearances on 8 out of 10 Cats, Never Mind the Buzzcocks and many more. His last solo was described by Chortle as being 'a close to perfect show'. Matt Winning's Mugabe and Me presents the cultish Scotts comic on a journey recounting his time working closely with one of the world's most despised leaders .
Charmian Hughes brings some bitter-sweet insights about the alternative comedy scene to her new show 'When Comedy Was Alternative', whilst the performance duo Sh!t Theatre send up Woman's Hour in their new comedy/theatre/performance crossover show.
