Join Shiraz Bayjoo for an exploration of his exhibition Searching for Libertalia, as he turns NAE's Mezzanine Gallery from museum, to archive, to an imagined space which explores the colonial past of Madagascar. Revealing several years of indepth research, Bayjoo intermixes the fictional pirate utopia of Libertalia, colonisation of the island by France and the 17th century exploits of the East India Company to create a space where ocean, island and history meet. Join us to learn more and share your thoughts.
