About

An intimate performance crossing theatre, installation, sound art and intermedia… Shifting Ground is a performance and installation that traverses the human and the geological, exploring the idea that all forms are temporal and metamorphic. Australian media artist and performer Zoe Scoglio unites physicalised sound, interactive projection mapping, ceremonial participation and gestural choreography in a journey from the cosmic to the concrete. Made in collaboration with sound designer Nigel Brown, interaction designer Chris Heywood and prop designer Zoe Stuart. Shifting Ground looks at the impermanent and fleeting nature of our time on this earth, and our symbiotic relationship with the elements that form it. Shifting Ground premiered in the 2012 Arts House Program, Melbourne, and in the UK in 2014 at The Tramway, Glasgow. A Green Room award winner for Outstanding Production in the Hybrid and Alternative Performance category. Supported by Arts House CultureLAB, Australia Council for the Arts, JUMP National Mentorship Program and Arts Victoria.
