Shapeshifter New Paintings by Jonathan Stubbs 23/01/13 — 02/03/13 Departure, E14 7LW [Limehouse DLR] Private View 07/02/13, 6.30 — 8.30pm --- Shapeshifter presents new works by Jonathan Stubbs, exploring the relationship between humanity and landscape, traced in the history of landscape painting. Two works study the explosion of resource gathering in the 19th Century, and how this has influenced humanity's position in relation to the landscape. Two works look at the role of the garden in that relationship, as re-imaginings of Edouard Manet's work, Le déjeuner sur l'herbe. --- From Limehouse DLR, take the Branch Road exit.
