About
An exhibition of watercolours, inks, acrylics and prints ranging from delicate watercolour florals and local views, to Northumbrian landscapes and intricate illustrated maps.
PAMELA uses a variety of different painting styles. Sometimes she paints Richmond and the Dales, sometimes her art is more abstract, expressing her love of nature and favourite poems. She works from sketches, photos and her imagination. The translucency of watercolour is perfect for painting wild flowers and for the light and shade of woodland trees and water. She also enjoys the rich colours and textures that can be achieved with alcohol inks and acrylics. One of the great pleasures of later life is having time to enjoy being creative. Pamela hopes this exhibition reflects this and maybe encourage others to paint
SARAH grew up in Teesside and North Yorkshire. Inspired by her Mum she lives and works as a professional artist/illustrator in Northumberland. The love of place informs everything she paints, from the beautiful landscapes of the Northumberland coast, to her brand new illustrated map of Yorkshire. Her pictures begin with ink drawings and evolve into complex, layered compositions which reflect her love of detail and colour, and always with a sense of fun. This exhibition features a selection of fine at prints from her ink and watercolour originals.
