About
SeX Pests - paintings by Natasha Barrero
'An ongoing series, these paintings explore the shadow of shame cast by ballsy macho public figures. In one way or another, all have tried to squirm and wriggle off the hook of responsibility and recrimination. The controversial; the pathetic; the embarrassing; the shocking; the scary and the monstrous are contained (and diminished) on canvas and paper in the HEPSIBAH Gallery window for public scrutiny and judgement. Peer at the perves, just don’t laugh; that’s what they’re most scared of. Prices reflect the morals of the subjects." N B 2020

THE HEPSIBAH GALLERY proudly welcomes this exhibition to the Gallery , which because of the restrictions of the Coronovirus pandemic has recently closed it's doors as an exhibition space and only last month took the sad decision to cancel all booked shows for this Autumn /Winter 2020 Season.
We have had to reinvent or fail so we chose to reinvent ourselves into Crazy Jane Antiques and Interiors and for the short term will be operating remotely and via Instagram as an Antique shop.
I had to move mountains to hang this exhibition, well I literally had to move two early 19th century Stoneware Planters in tree trunk form and two of the heaviest wrought iron early victorian garden chairs on display in the window as an Antique shop, but I was determined to show Natasha's work. It's my birthday week and I can show whatever I like in the Gallery window even if it did involve moving a whole new business out to show it.
All galleries are looking at ways to trade during lockdowns or partial restrictions and maybe this is the answer.
My garden forecourt is looking great and can happily social distance from 6 to a dozen people and I have a large canopy if it rains.
The Artist welcomes your reactions to this work.
We would like to record your reactions,
The forecourt window gallery experience could be an interactive experience where you can safely view this exhibition and hopefully film yourself and send us your opinions! Please send your reactions to me by email :hepsibah@mac.com or better @hepsibahgallery on Instagram
